How To Repair A Water Proof Rivet

General Motors Waterproof Rivets: UPDATE

On the 2022 and newer Chevrolet Cruze, if you read through some of the procedures, like the Rear Wheelhouse Panel Replacement procedure, you may find yourself request, "What is the waterproof rivet B1 referenced in the installation process?" Let's find out.

If you come up across this or some other type of fastener you may not exist familiar with, the respond can typically be constitute in the vehicle-specific body repair manual on the ACDelco website under: Body Repair ➤ Collision Repair ➤ Specifications ➤ Fastener Specifications. In this case, the 2022 Cruze torso repair manual identifies the Waterproof Rivet B1 as a blind rivet. This document too calls out the correct GM function number for the rivet.

In the case of the 2022 Chevrolet Cruze body repair transmission, the outer A-pillar sectioning procedure specifies the use of waterproof rivets B1. The chart listing the rivets is located within The Standoff Repair Specifications (Riveting) section. Still, the manual is currently being updated to include the waterproof rivet B1 function number. Per our contact at GM, "The B1 Rivet is the correct Rivet part number 13438214 for the A-Pillar the Grip range is 0.5 to 6.v mm."
